... beach with some fantastic waves. John and I walked along the beach and found a nice shady hammock to relax for a while, then rejuvenated by letting the waves knock us off our feet repeatedly. Leaving there, we spotted another dolphin, which briefly played in the wake of our boat. Finally, we stopped to snorkel at one last spot with a nice drop-off wall and a very cool flat fish, before heading home for the evening.

... day of flaking out.
Walked around the whole island barefoot, took about an hour, through some mangroves and rough terrain, but i wasnt put off, wrote some journals and other various ramblings, chilled out in a hammock and downed a few quiet beers.
Rob and Ben took off in the afternoon for Panama City, chances are I would run into them again!
To be honest after the last week, all the drinking, the whole nearly going to ...
... surf particularly unkind for relative greenhorns like ourselves (though conditions were pretty kick-ass for body-surfing, which was way more fun than being pounded trying to surf). Sharing, as we were, one surfboard meant that we got less than half an hour of use each before retreating through the ever-present rainfall back to the boat. To top off a lousy days entertainment all round, when we returned the board it transpired that we had somehow but quite a ding in ...
Bocas Town, Bocas del Toro, Panama roryd... swam in the sun and, as it turned out, had a bit too much sun as we both got absolutely fried. We stopped off at a little restaurant over the water and had some fresh (or maybe not so fresh) calamari and then headed back to the hotel. We went back to our favorite spot on the island, 9 degrees, and then went back to the hotel not feeling too hot (calamari?). When we finally went out for dinner it was terrible, so bad infact that we ...
Bocas del Toro, Bocas del Toro, Panama jfeezyAt 4:15 a.m., we were awakened by a heavy tropical downpour. We got up and sat on the lanai to listen to the loud thunder, the crashing waves and watched the flashes of lightening. The humid morning rain was a welcomed surprise, who could have ever imagined rain could be so tranquil yet very forceful, especially at 4:15 a.m. We left about 7:30 a.m. for Cahuita. We arrived at the Sloth Rescue Plantation (www.slothrescue.org ...
Puerto Viejo de Talamanca, Costa Rica rfritzjr... to go a cab had just dropped someone off, but wanted too much money to get back. Right behind the cab was a sand truck so we stopped him and hopped into the back and rode standing in the truck bed. It was actually a lot of fun and less rocky than being in a car (we just had to make sure to duck under a few low lying tree branches). Back at the house we met back up with Jaime and Mike and sat in the shade and read finding out the hard way that even under ...

Bocas Town, Bocas del Toro, Panama jimanddan... on a serious beer/rum session with our Panamanian friends before going for a curry and birthday cake then dancing the night away to Calipso music (gets a bit vague here), Simon swinging from the rafters and Linz engaging in some pole dancing action. Hhmm we may have let the gracious foreigner bit slip here. Oh well what the hell? There were no red frogs :-(
Bocas Town, Bocas del Toro, Panama 2monkeys... Costa Rica. We will most probably stay on the beach at the Carribbean side of Costa Rica and get a bus to San Jose (the capital) on Sunday. We need to be there early Monday morning to pick up our German friend Stefan and collect our rent-a-car which will be our luxury during 10 days. Panama is definetly another country we would not mind coming back to (we have left all the eastern part untouched). Cheerio for the time being.
