          ... city from the hotel.

          Day 9::

          Brussels on foot was tiring, as places of visit were not very close and since the city was huge, there were chances we would not get to see it entirely. So we opted for a hop on and hop off bus, which gave us a chance to see the city, hop off at any destination we wanted to explore and wait for another bus to hop on again on that route. There were 2 routes on the bus and the bus covered 23 locations. The 23 euros that we paid for ...

          ... either Eileen or I could be upgraded to a double, while the other ended up in the pre-booked single. Eileen volunteered to take the single--which was, shall we say, the size of a cell block or a monks room. Since she is the most devout, it seemed somehow fitting.

          Navigating the European hotel room is intriguing--there is a slot for your room key that turns on the lights. But...turning off the lights is easier said than done, if one does not want to turn off ...

After we finished that we came to a nice corner bar and had our first Belgian local beer called 'Delirium' which was ok but I was told very strong on the stomach by the bar lady cutely informing us after we paid, but sure look! After that we went through a big open space which was dotted with makeshift bars and vans for waffles, hamburgers and chips and was packed with people ...

          ... we managed to get a very good appreciation of the old and new Brussels without dehydrating in the 32 C heat.

          It was then time to cool off and have some lunch. Selecting the restaurant was a challenge because there are so many of them to choose from.

          We thought we could catch the second half of the city tour from the same place we caught the first- boy were we wrong, as were many others who ...

          ... but my shoes were on the other side so started getting my stuff together while completely freaking out and yelling back at him . I was waiting for my door to slam into something on the side of the road cos he was mainly only looking at me and yelling. I thought surely Sarah would be behind me somewhere ..(no she was in at the elevator waiting for me, no idea what was going on!) finally he slammed on the brakes, I threw what i think was 5 euro at him, ...
