... door was open! We stumbled our way through the doorway, like two lost souls who had been stranded on an island without food for one week too long. I glanced at the lady behind the counter - her head was not tilted awkwardly, her posture was upright. Perhaps not a zombie. She spoke to us in French, then a little english. ... confirmed by a young lady I spoke to on the return tram ride.

After first going into another church which was absolutely beautiful on the inside, we headed for the Cathedral with the painting I mentioned above. The Cathedral was called St Bavo Cathedral. Massive and beautiful, but the key attraction was the painting entitled "Adoration of the Mystic Lamb" by Van Eyck. Cost to get in, 4 Euros, but you get a headset ...

While I have had a bit of time to jot some things down during the past few days and take a few pictures, I have not had time and/or wifi access to put it all together. So while our trip is just about done and we spent a wonderful day in Bruge today, allow me if you will to go back a little and then a lot, in time.

Our flight departed from Toronto in the early evening, Saturday, March 2, touching down in Brussels early Sunday ...
