Notable happenings was the guy making and giving out free coffee and hot chocolate - in exchange for being filmed for his YouTube channel that he uses to advertise his coffee van.

... Boden. Weiter gehts zur Pier 83, heute ist unser Sightseeing-Tag. Vom Pier verkehren Schiffe, die Touren um Manhattan im Hudson- und East River anbieten. Wir buchen eine halbe Umrundung die zwei Stunden dauert. Leider bewölkt es sich zusehends und es wird auch windiger. Trotzdem ist die Schifffahrt unterhaltsam, die Aussicht auf die Skyline gibt tolle Sujets, der Abstecher zur Freiheitsstatue fehlt auch nicht und die Brooklyn Bridge und das UNO-Gebäude werden auch noch ...

... the first few days checking out the somewhat touristy but still awesome French Quarter and drinking and dancing the night away on Bourbon Street (tacky) and Frenchman Street (awesome!) listening to jazz bands in bars and on street corners.

After 3 days of pushing we managed to salvage an extra half day and get to New York on Friday evening. After a hiccup finding our hotel in one of the cheaper (and scarier) parts of town, we decided to brave the bus and ride 30 minutes into town to see the lights. Definitely worth it. The bus took us right into the heart of Manhattan and we walked a few minutes through bustling streets to Times Square. We took photos, watched people, dodged the traffic, ...
