... nature of the game and if I understood the rules and tactics, it might have made more sense. If I lived here, I would need to learn. But let's face it, I'm an AFL girl and it would need to be a great sport to top seeing Richmond in full flight. Tomorrow we need to pack and say goodbye to the Upper West Side and head home. We flogged down town to do a u-ie around her Majesty, the Statue of Liberty, but those blasted 35 million people who have been following us about beat us on the draw. Pretty perfect for December! Amazing day one in this amazing city ...

We must have stopped at every single statue in the park and stood in front of it for 20mins being told about it’s history. Near the end of the tour the guide said ...

... us back to Manhattan. We did pass Walt Whitman Park, though, which was cool. Not because I'm familiar with his work, but because his name is mentioned a fair bit on Breaking Bad. How cultured of me.

After managing to find the station, we got the subway all the way back to Penn Station, and from there just a short walk back to the hotel before we were in our room. Our hotel had a roof-top bar which overlooked the Empire State Building, and we said from the day ...
