The Auris was wonderful. Very clean and well maintained. The staff were fantastic, they could not do enough to please you. It was very easy to book all our tours in the lobby. The location is also very good. It is right next to the Emirates Mall and the metro station and a fairly short taxi ride away from everything else.

      Dubai- another world entirely

A travel blog entry by that_crazy_one on Apr 01, 2012

I went out to Dubai to visit a friend of mine and also my partner (at the time) who had a weeks leave on his navy deployment. It was a completely spontaneous decision that required an awful lot of overtime to pay for (I only decided three months before I went) It is also where my story starts, my first holiday on my own as a grown up and where I …

After a slow start this morning, and the chance to do a little bit of research, I discovered that the Mall we had visited yesterday actually wasn't the largest - Dubai Mall is the largest one!! We headed downstairs with the intention to find out 3 things - how to get to Dubai Mall by train, if Ramadan was starting tomorrow ( we'd had a note about this in our room when we arrived) and how it would affect us, and to organise a tour of the sights. The staff were very helpful ...

Happy Birthday Mandi! We had yet again a wonderful morning breakfast yesterday, followed by a quick dip, with another complimentary fruit cocktail, this time mint and orange . The fruits have been so sweet many of which are either native to the island or grown, but they taste wonderful. We were told all was in hand with our trip out to the little airport and that they would get us there just before take off. Upon check out, they ...

Dubai a day in the Life (It's surreal!!)

... breakfast on Saturday, our final day in Dubai before we head off aboard the MSC Lirica, Roisin suggested we come here for breakfast having seen the sign advertising ‘Breakfast served here’. Breakfast ranged from ‘Our Soup’ to Goats Head’. To be honest I didn’t think goats head was the sort of thing one ate for breakfast!! Regardless of my observation Roisin declared: ‘We ain’t having breakfast here’. Instead we decided to raid ...
