    Left New York this morning after a night of rain almost as if the city was crying because I was leaving (okay have to kid myself)

    ... In six stops we were in the right place. We hopped off the train and found ourselves in a place resembling a dump! If I thought where we were staying in the Latin Quarter was bad, this area was worse! Rubbish and broken glass everywhere, every house had overgrown weeds for garden beds and everything seemed dirty.     ... Iroquois. This square in the western sector of Old Town Montreal is now the paved forecourt to the 1836 neoclassical Old Customs House. This square/forecourt was used as the city's main marketplace during the 17th and 18th century.
