... facing the morning sun, was something special. The landscape changed after that to the mountains and gorges of Castilla y Leon and then the vineyards of La Rioja. We will save the vineyards for another trip.....

... place. We had apparently booked a room in a college dorm that rents extra rooms out to tourists. Our room felt exactly like a dorm room with its side-by-side desks separating the twin beds on opposite walls, and our hall felt just like a dorm hall, complete with 19-year-olds hanging out in the hallway talking late into the night. ... and luckily the majority of the exhibits are rotating so there's a good chance that a year from now it could be filled with completely new modern art that would inspire a deeper feeling of respect. However the current art exhibits left us uninspired.

... of amazing artworks depicting actual historical events (like walking from the walled town to the basilica just outside the walls) as well as religious scenes. These were unsigned and presumably by the monks of the time, which always make me wonder why some artists become famous, while others don’t. And to think this church has been standing there since the11th Century. Some of the Wadestown people will appreciate that ...
