What I have learned this month...a new and
Totally different way of life. I suggest inland sailors all move outside & be apart of this cruising world.
1) women aboard are not just mate to cook, wash cloths and scrub boat.
2) be flexible for unforeseen problems, Life happens.
3)cold showers and emptying head :(

Our start this rnorning found us aground in the mouth of Jeremy Creek after leaving Leland Oil dock in McClellansville, SC. While this wasn't on our plan it did provide the opportunity to eat a nice breakfast, coming unstuck from the oatmeal-like bottom just as we finished the last of our coffee. It was 23degrees Celsius and we didn't know what to do with ourselves. We spent the morning sitting in our beach chairs in our jeans enjoying the sound of the waves and reading our books. We enjoyed electric heat last night at Myrtle Beach Yacht Club but the morning was cold and we slept in, leaving just in time to catch the 1000 opening of the Little River swing bridge, passing through with four other boats. To the Captain's thinking, the next 27 miles of Myrtle Beach overdevelopment is the least attractive stretch of the entire east coast ICW. ... the waffles!!!) and I ordered the classic Shrimp and Grits with a biscuit. Needless to say everything was freaking amazing. Neither of us had had grits before and they were filled with cheesy goodness. Seriously an amazing breakfast but omg so filling. We did not eat lunch that day.
