... coz then imagine it suddenly being destroyed and shattered as the strangled first lines of Queen's smash hit "I want to break free" screeched through the wilderness! Yep, the campsite next door was having its staff xmas party (mid-week, I might add!) and they performed hideous karaoke 'hits' all night long. So we did get our Gold Coast experience, its just that we were situated in a forest for it! Typical!
... food shopping, got all my stuff, went to the cashier and realising a had no cash, asked to pay by card. The dappy cow firstly asked me for my pin.. obviously thought that was weird so refused and put it in myself, but then she made a mistake on the eftpos machine and the printer didnt give me a reciept, so she refused to give me my shopping. Quite ****** off i stormed out, collected myself and walzed in again to try and explain to her my problem with what ...
Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia kat_travels... explored all the shops and were pretty fed up by the end of it. The next day didn't get any better, i had been bitten even more, so we left the hostel as early as we could to stay in the city at a much larger (and expensive) hostel, which was more like a hotel so we could chill out and wash all of our clothes. We were much happier here and treated ourselves to beer and pizza in the evening. We left for Brisbane the following morning.
Surfers Paradise, Queensland, Australia jz2009... start of the storm that made us drive for hours and hours and have to sleep at the side of the road .. so we prayed for some sunny weather this time. Its only about an hours drive from Brisbane but totally different. Surfers paradise itself is reallly commercialized and focuses a lot on tourism. I couldnt think of a word to describe it but my mum found the perfect word - Brash ! Brash isnt necessarily a bad thing, but would be a bit ...
Surfers Paradise, Queensland, Australia nadinekarl... there were a very small number of girls on the sat one. but it was stillm alot of fun, we went to 5 bars both night, the second one being a bowling alley. we didnt bowl on wed, but on sat we bowled for a bout an hour. and its not a big deal or anything, but i got 2 strikes... And Mike got a spare his first attempt at 10 pin bowling. Um yeah so we bought a phone for 60 bucks last week, went to a whole bunch of movies, only paying for 2, but sneaking into a second one ...
Surfers Paradise, Australia drod_wood... rides. Some special highlights of the day were firstly seeing the two tiger cubs up real close as they were walked through the park a little later in the day (we were real close but not allowed to touch) and secondly Ryan's impersonation of Steve Irwin when he saw a litle snake (probably a python or some tree snake) on the side of the path coming out of the Big Brother house he raced up to have a closer look at it - luckily it showed more sense ...
Dreamworld, Australia georgeescape... points, if you went out far enough, would throw you completely around and every which way. Fun stuff! So after sompletly darining ourselves of energy we headed for a bite to eat at Red Roosters and slyly checked into our hotel room and snuck everyone in. From there it was shower, sh!t and shave time! Sorry for the vulgar use but there was no better way to describe it! After chilling in our room we all head out to check out the city. We ...
Surfers Paradise, Australia mcdonkeyburgers... although very expensive - a bit like a theme park really. I got to have a cuddle with a very heavy koala and we enjoyed the shows in the crocoseum. It was by far the busiest place we have visited since our arrival in Australia - no doubt due to Steve Urwins tragic death. We spent two days in brisbane and couldn't wait to leave. We got our jabs for the trip home done and left as quick as possible. That is when it began to rain...........
Brisbane, Australia jojohn... I don't know why but I ended up having a bit too much and couldn't make it out and had to stay in on my own and speak to other people in the hostel that I have no interest in what so ever. I woke up on Saturday feeling nervous about the game, which lasted the whole day. When I get nervous before games I'm **** company, which was noticed by my mates who I barely said a word to all day and kept myself to myself when we went down South Bank. I've ...
