... launched ourselves into the unknown. The initial ride through the tunnel with a series of twists and turns was thrilling and I had a, I can handle this, smile on my face. ... in the middle of it all: high buildings next to a wonderful beach and...countless schoolies lol. We spent the day at a quiter beach and at night had a nice bbq with Amy's dad John. Amy was there as well and we again had a nice evening together :-) As a dessert we had a Pavlova, an australian merinque. Tara - your pav was better than the one we got from the store!! ;-)
... game, it was back to our place for snacks, drinks, sparklers and glow in the dark bowling!! The kids had a great time, as did the adults~
Sunday brought with it Lucas' first trip around "the path", the one near our house, about 2.5k. He did it all on his own bike and I ran it!
Luke has also completed the Gold Coast bike track down at Broadwater, like an expert!! hope the video works to prove it~
... of course, I still want to try ;)
Also managed to make friends with a parrot, well I made friends, he's still thinking things over...but he'll be back!

Lots of time in the pool these days.....it's HOT out there!!

The roos were very relaxed and habituated to people and mostly resting in the heat of the day, so you could walk right up to them, pet them, and spend some time sharing a shady tree with these iconic Australian marsupials. Additionally there were several ambassador animals, similarly habituated, for zoo visitors to interact with, and we got to pet both koalas and a wombat.
