Here we are boys & girls, Queensland
30th January
Arrived at Cairns at 1.30pm. Walked off the plane to be greeted by a solid wall of hot air, (35º) felt like getting back on the plane and saying if you don't turn the thermostat down I’m not getting off!
Picked car up and a quiet drive up to Port …
Great Barrier Reef
We flew from Singapore to Darwin, and then Darwin to Cairns. To which we were very lucky, as the next day Darwin airport was closed due to the cyclones and storms.
We got in the taxi and made our way an hour north of Cairns, to Port Douglas. The scenery on the ocean road was fantastic, although after the full night of flying, and …
The Beginning of Our Aus Adventure in Port Douglas
It's finally here...The Australian leg of our journey and the weather is beautiful. There are some clouds in the sky as we make our way from Cairns straight to Port Douglas but the views along the coastline are amazing. You can see the rainforests practically spilling over into the sea as they run down the hillsides. The ocean is vast and blue and …

TravelPod Member ReviewsBy The Sea Port Douglas
We spent 4 nights at By the Sea in Port Douglas and were incredibly impressed! Fantastic location next to the beach right on the main street in town. Great self-catering facility with full kitchen and bbqs! Tons of extras provided for free including beach toys and boogie boards, eskies and ice, and a dvd player with tons of movies. The staff is fantastic - we would definitely stay again!!

Staff were great, apartments were gorgeous, and they think of everything - you can borrow deck chairs, sun loungers for the beach, cool-boxes, DVD's, laptops! Loved it!
