    Mediocre

Great location - close to beach and shopping. Accommodations were good - terrible bed and pillows though and couldn't handle more than 3 nights. Left with a stiff back and shoulders. Service was adequate with a bit of an attitude and lacking professionalism - felt like our questions regarding reef tours were a waste of their time and bothersome even though they encourage us to book through them. At one point the clerk actually read out a brochure line for line to us for what felt like 5 min - we can read and wasn't sure if she was taking the piss or had no clue herself. Definitely not 5 or even 4 star service but the price reflects this. Was quite happy to leave early and check into a 4 star hotel even though we had to pay for both nights.

We spent 4 nights at By the Sea in Port Douglas and were incredibly impressed! Fantastic location next to the beach right on the main street in town. Great self-catering facility with full kitchen and bbqs! Tons of extras provided for free including beach toys and boogie boards, eskies and ice, and a dvd player with tons of movies. The staff is fantastic - we would definitely stay again!!

Staff were great, apartments were gorgeous, and they think of everything - you can borrow deck chairs, sun loungers for the beach, cool-boxes, DVD's, laptops! Loved it!

To Reef or not to Reef

Well we didn't make it to Mossman today after all. Spent most of the day reviewing brochures, looking online and talking to folks about our reef options. The Reef Sprinter people that were able to get us to the low isles reef in 15 min on a boat that goes about 75km/hr didn't think their tour was a good choice for us after all as it's still pretty …

Last day in Noosa and we just take it easy. It's Valentines Day but none of us feel the need to do anything special. We're feeling pretty lucky already I think.

We spend the morning at the pool and then head out to Noosaville for fish & chips - the fish is red emperor. L seems pretty happy to eat any kind as long as it is deep fried. I …

... my trip I have been doing well but am realizing I will be very ready to come home. I'm glad I will have some more traveling to do to distract me. I'm still having the time of my life and I'm glad it is not over yet, but I just look at some of the people who are traveling for years on end and I don't know how they do it! I have way too many people I love back home to be gone that longs without checking in! :)

Love you all and thanks for sharing this journey with
