Sunday 4th January…..we will forever remember this date……freedom!!!! We got up early and rebelled by not doing our animal duties, then left at 9am, wow what a relief……we cheered all the way down the road! One of our other jobs is to harvest carobs. These are black seed pods which grow on carob trees and look a bit like a dried up black bananas. Most of the carobs are on the floor, and there are hundreds of them, so it is just a case of picking them up and putting them in sacks, sounds easy but it is a killer on the knees and the back!
