The next stop on my journey of visiting teacher friends in Spain was Barcelona. My friend Montse lived in Greensboro for one year teaching at jones immersion school. Now she is an English teacher in the town where she grew up just outside Barcelona. I happened to arrive on her birthday. ... maybe more, congregating outside the church where there was an Easter religious reenactment....... I'm not sure what was happening but the majority of the crowd did and they clapped and cheered in unison at what seemed appropriate times.
We then walked the old city of Barcelona and ate ice cream for dinner. It all seemed right, hot balmy night and tired bodies.
It was a very full day with some memories that will last a lifetime.

... a to our Hotel Barcelona Universal where my parents were anxiously waiting in the lobby. What a reunion of hugs and tears. Simply seeing someone after a period of time can remind you how much you truly did miss them. Our hotel was nice and had a beautiful view of the city from the rooftop, which we enjoyed daily. We would stay there again, the only complaint being our 2nd story room made sleeping a battle with the noisy sounds of the city ...
Had to pay 60 euros for the pleasure of my guitar with me, but it was worth it. First time i've ever had to pay for it! Even South America gave me it free.
Met a girl from Rabat, Morocco, on the plane, who incidently works in Barcelona, and she gave me tips on all thing Morrocan. Thanks Layla.
