Started the day in Breezand packing our bags for our next chapter of our adventure. Before we left, we borrowed Martine and Andre's Dutch granny bikes (these bikes look like something we might have in a museum) and went for a ride around the neighbourhood. Lots of fun and we loved riding bikes in flat areas and all of Holland is pancake (or pannekook) flat. Andre and Martine drove us back to the airport in Amsterdam for our 1.5 hour flight to Inverness, Scotland. So sad to ...

Woke up bright and early for an adventure to Amsterdam by train with Martine and Andre. We caught a train from a town called Anna Paulona into downtown Den Helder to visit the market where Martine used to work at a poultry business. Her old colleagues were excited to see her and we had some laughs and ate some delicious chicken and some pictures they put up ...

... invited us in to see his windmill/home and share stories. Very small town-like. I loved it. Next, we went to Den Helder and had a great visit with Martine's mom and dad at their home followed by some more site seeing around town and on the dike and watching a large barge and tug pass through the locks on the canal on its way to the North Sea.
