... OK...nothing overly impressive after seeing the amazing historic sights in Athens and Rome. Nonetheless, we enjoyed ourselves and of course had more tapas and sangria along the way.
We were extremely tired of walking by the end of the day and headed home to get ready for our first big night in Barcelona, unsure of what to do. Lucky for us we ran into Chris and Kelly from Sacramento in the hotel elevator and became immediate best of friends. They had just got engaged in Europe ...
... for 4:45 a.m. to come so the station would open. At 4:45 we got back into the train station, only to be told we couldn't sleep on the floor. So we killed time, met some cool Swedish girls, and got in line for tickets at 6:30 a.m. when the booth opened. Only, again, to have our dreams dashed by f'ing France. The train to Barcelona at 7 a.m. was full so we'd have to take a later train. More time in the God forsaken place that is the train station of Montpellier ...
Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain and Canary Islands laceymh... the skyline and also the bull ring. TORO!! Since I had my bus ticket from yesterday, I used the on/off bus to go to the park on the top of the hill. This park was designed by Gaudi and has all those elements that make his work unique. SEE PICS For the rest of the day, I made it my goal to explore those gothic and Gaudi structures that make Barcelona so beautiful. This evening, there was a major ...
Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain and Canary Islands davefremland... or more like embarrassed myself) by my fascination with cows. While this was all happening, I also saw my first shooting star. It was amazing; went by so quick like a blink of an eye. That night we covered a braod range of topics, and around midnight Uta and I showered then headed to bed. The next day was gonna be a good one. All I had planned was spendign the day at the beach with Michael. We did need to run some errands such as, buy some ...

When she's finished with the tour we'll be going to the Gaudi cathedral and visiting a bunch of other architectural marvels. Tomorrow we'll take in the gothic neighborhood, then it's off to Paris, where Casey will fly out. Beth and Lou are hoping to stay in Europe and continue their travels for a while, inshallah.
Barcelona, Spain locabe... room and then wandered our way back to his Yaya's (grandmother) after 6am. I have no idea what he told her happened to us..we were both bruised and woke with dry blood on our faces...I can't imagine. I think he told her "we fell." Alex's parents were flying in the next day so he was off to pick them up while Phil and I did the tourist thing. We went to see a few unique houses/churches/etc. by a famous Spanish architect named Gaudi. His works are famous ...
Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain and Canary Islands ktowers86... Familia, Gaudi's unfinished masterpiece. This was pretty cool. It was crazy to walk to either side of it because one half he completed and the other was finished after his death and they are COMPLETELY different. We wandered around the building for a bit, admiring and taking photos. We contemplated going up but decided to just head out because we were getting hungry. We took the metro to Catalunya, at the top of Las Ramblas. In the metro they had a Dunkin Donuts that sold Dulce de ...

It was so nice to wander about the beautiful old, and funky new, buildings with the sun on my face (we even had to buy sunglasses). Manda and I took things easily and took in ...
