I read online that Playa Blanca was a pretty well kept secret, that not many people had really known about it, was very clean, had excellent snorkeling, and the waters were calm. Those were all lies.       ... there at the drop of a sombrero.

      My walk around Puntarenas ranged farther than most of my shipmates would venture. I came upon the spot where local fishermen arrive to sell their catch. Most of them had long gone as I didn't arrive until mid-morning but a few were still cleaning their catch and tossing the scraps to waiting cats and pelicans who tussled with each other for a meal.

      3- It's one of the best places in the world to learn how to surf but... es muy difícil aprender el surf. Apparently between 2-3 hours before high tide the beaches of Jaco offer something of a surfing paradise for all those learning to surf. That might be true but it doesn't mean that we'll be "hanging ten" any time soon (at least, not on purpose). I'm not sure if it's a complete lack of flexibility, bad joints, or ...

      Work began at 7:30, but actually started earlier as we continued "wrangling" cows back to their rightful field. The guys worked the fence line and cleaned up the soccer field for an evening wedding of one of the former Tias (Kim). In fact, the wedding ceremony is going on right now as the strains of Pachelbel's Canon fill the air.
