- Very nicely laid out and well-groomed city - nice parks with flowers and fountains. Very pretty

- Very friendly people talking to me on the tram, in the shops etc in Croatian and continuing to talk in a friendly way (in Croatian) even when I said I don't speak it

Farewell Brac, hello Hvar
... and listen distractedly to the chatter around us. Hvar is supposed to be a classier island, Hollywood stars allegedly hang out here. This ferry ride suggests a different group of people are traveling to Hvar than Brac. I wonder if I misread Brac; I think it is the poor cousin of these islands, literally, less people, less resources and a harder existence. We have a plan as we disembark, park the car and go to the tourist office and get a map before we start to drive. ...
Buckwild in Stalingrad
... a it stingy so we ended up getting supermarket beers and drinking on the dock for a few hours before we put on our best digs to head into Hvar, apparently the party capital of the Croatian islands. Some Ups and Downs

After lunch in Stari Grad, we did more ups and downs until we reached the tiny inlet of Velika Stiniva. Getting there was, let's say, heart pumping.
