      ... m eating a breakfast that features real butter smeared on real bread-toasted! I couldn't have swung any further to the opposite side of the spectrum. I can hardly believe that 12 hours ago I was floating above the juba airport watching SPLA soldiers move like camouflaged ants as our plane shoved through the clouds.       ... and that beautiful sunny day turned into a major rainstorm! We watched it from a great viewpoint in the nice dry restaurant and felt super lucky!       ... eyes wide open at 2.30am so I grabbed my iPad and got sucked into my bestie's book until 5am. Beth is a really talented writer and the story is so enthralling I couldn't put it down.       On the other hand, the Great Portuguese Synagogue, esnoga in Ladino, completed in 1675, still functions as a place of worship. (It was called 'Portuguese' because the Dutch Republic was at war with Spain at the time.)
