... to the floors above, so we could get an idea what it used to look like.

We spent the whole afternoon in Split. It's a great place to walk through. We ended our visit with a smoothie along the waterfront boulevard called Riva. We could see the ships coming and going while we were sitting in the shade of a palmtree.

We also wanted to visit the Ancient Roman ruins of Salona, but it was a little late for that.
We did some shoping for ...

... every day with a new sculpture or a new plant. there are stone and wooden carvings/installations everywhere- we eat breakfast at a stone table which is covered in Ivy and because its autumn its bright red with bluey/purple berries. Lunch is usually in another clearing (closer to the fire) but once again a stone table with wooden seats- they seem to be carved out of the tree trunk itself. ... stop either talking or moving us on....and mostly both. "Lunch will be in a few minutes" and "you will have free time soon" was her constant refrain....for hours and hours!!! But today is another day. The weather will be a little cooler and, goodness me, maybe even a little wet, and we drive to Plitvice lakes which is billed as a great highlight, being a UNESCO heritage site. ... were particularly aggressive shrubs. Actually, they were extremely aggressive, painful in fact. Of course I couldn't admit to my brother that I found said shrubs troublesome and so continued to hide my wincing as we drove deeper into the Island just to prove that I too was a real man. When we found the position satisfying enough we looked around to realise that we had dragged ourselves into a forest of Cacti!

... down some alleyway and barely had a sign. I am happy we found it, we both had delicious meals there. I had the seafood pasta and mom had the seafood risotto. This was fresh seafood and they made you work for it, the shrimp where still whole, and we had to open the clams and stuff. This was my first time having seafood like this and I was pleasantly surprised. I thought clams would be really gross but I quite enjoyed them... Surprise surprise. We were in Spilt for St Paddy's day. ...
