... for the 30 minute ride to the mainland. Once there, we boarded a large bus for the 2 hour trip to Dubrovnik. The route had beautiful views of the coast, that reminded many of Big Sur. Lots of rocky coastline, with dramatic cliff views. We also passed the Grgich Winery, which we all would have voted to stop...but no time.

As we were getting into Dubrovnik, Katja gave us a bit more history of the Balkan war. This area was ...

I think I am in love with Croatia! The water is just so lovely to look at, that it draws me in. It was very pretty just driving along the coast and once we got to town there were the same narrow roads uphill. When ...

... ended up in the front seat she had wanted and sat there in a normal position for the rest of the trip!

Got dropped off by the taxi driver to the wrong address but didn't mind as we walked along the beautiful path above the beach and leading down to the old town of Dubrovnik. Our apartment is an attic room (with air con thank goodness) and looks directly out onto one of the old town walls of Dubrovnik. Magic!

... just around the next bay) for our second overnight ferry crossing of the trip where tomorrow morning we would wake up in Italy!

Not building our expectations too high we were pleasantly surprised by our spacious cabin, with en suite may we add and it had a window which…ah, people can walk past and see right in when you are getting changed…gosh I’ve missed those walks of shame!
