... soak up the sun & read for a while and then, depending on how we felt and the weather, do something in the afternoon.Most times it was a bus trip into the town for a bit more exploring. We did consider the Cable Car up the mountain, but when we got to the hop on point there was a quite a queue so we decided against it, whew!!! it was an awfully high mountain (well maybe not a mountain but it was still high)

When we climbed the city walls, on one side you saw the old city of Dubrovnik and then when you went to the other side, you saw ocean as far as you could see. Our thighs were SCREAMING at us that night. The reason our thighs were screaming at us was because we climbed to the top and that was only about 100 steps!!! In total we climbed about 500 steps. ... was about 4 years too short ;) we went back into the city walls to grab a coffee. Like I mentioned before, 1/5th of the country's economy is tourism, so we really had our pick of cafe's. We found a cute one that advertised "iced coffee" on a handwritten chalkboard, and found seats in the shade outside. After a long, hot day of sightseeing we returned to the Excelsior to swim in the Adriatic. This sea has an exceptionally high salinity and the clarity is stunning.
