We took a three and a half hour ferry into Dubrovnik. The tour notes said that we were to take a bus and would have to pass through Bosnia (which I was looking forward to just for the passport stamp) but this route was much faster and more efficient. We arrived in Dubrovnik around 1:00 and went to check in at our hostel. It's about a half hour walk from the old town, but it has AIR CONDITIONING!! Such a luxury. We have not had air conditioning this entire trip, and our last ...

... walked around the city square and then caught a cable car up to the very top where we could see all of the amazing views of Dubrovnik. After that we caught a ferry over to one of the little islands to lay by the 'beach'. The beach was rocks and we all basically killed our feet attempting to get covered in water, we made it to maybe hip height and couldn't handle going any further. After laying around for a while we headed back to the hostel to get ready ...

We spent most of a day there and enjoyed walking around the island. The island is covered with graveled paths that made it ...

The restaurants in town seemed like total tourist traps and had the Venetian-like restaurant touts out front. Some were nice but one was quite rude and shoved a menu in my face even after I said "No thank you" 3 times. We did have a great meal at a Bosnian place with a really nice waitress. But other ...

... in the afternoon we decided to just shower and explore the town a little before finding someplace for dinner. Even though we were only 2 days into the trip we had started to form a little group that proved to be a lot of fun to organize activities and meals with throughout our trip. That night we decided to try out one of the recommended restaurants right on the harbor called Riva. Our dinner ended up being fantastic, I even had the chance to go with our waiter to ...
