In the 17 c. the Habsburgs now bring the baroque style. This is a very symmetrical style...what is on one side is on the other. That said there is the Czech style of baroque where columns are also part of the style.
After all of this, I went through the Klementinum with the gold ring being the view from the top!!! It was built as a Jesuit college as opposed to Charles University that was "Christian".

We had to catch a train into the centre of the city, which became rather full when 45 of us all got on in addition to the other passengers. ... There were lots of boring stairs. Another day we went up a funicular. It is a little tram that drives up a mountain. We saw more gardens and fruit trees. There's a tower that Dad and Alexander went up and a rose garden. We picked some fruit on the trip down but I didn't taste it because I didn't know if it was deadly or not. Alexander tasted it and said it was ...

... we made our way to a different kind of monument. Located at Velkopřevorské náměstí (Grand Priority Square) is the John Lennon wall. The 30m wall, is covered in John Lennon inspired graffiti and pieces of lyrics from the Beatles. It was originally painted in the 80's when the young Czechs would write about grievances which apparently led to a clash between hundreds of students and security police on the nearby Charles Bridge. The wall ...
