    Travel log: Bad Tolz 2011

    August 5-22

    Day 1: We arrived in Munich about 6pm. I got a little sleep on the plane, but not much. Bridgett's sister and Andy met us at the airport and we went to our place, which is a very nice suite. We then went to a kloster and I got roasted knodle. I ordered a weissbier. The waiter joked with me that he thought I wanted two weissbiers because Tony ordered the first one, and I said "zwei weissbier" after ...

    One of our many walking tours led to Grainau. What a beautiful place!

    We stopped for ice cream at the Hotel Haus Hammersbacher (and it was delicious). There is a small Catholic chapel very near the hotel and it is stunningly beautiful.

    This area is in the shadow of the highest peak of the German Alps, the Zugspitze. The lake Eibsee is also nearby.

    My husband is a chaplain with the Virginia National Guard, so we were excited about attending the Sunday service at the base chapel. It was Youth Sunday and the youth, with the help of the youth leaders, conducted the morning service. They did a great job!

    Além de ser dia dos pais era também de algum santo....








    Jantamos no restaurante ORLANDO, um chefe alemão que assina os pratos da Lufthansa, que fica na rua atrás do hotel. Comida muito boa, mas as sobremesas estavam muito melhor ;-)


    Dia de dormir cedo e tranquila "abraçada" ao passaporte ;-) De manhã sairemos para Lausanne.
