... the tour in the Old Town Square where the astronomical clock (it's a big deal) attached to the Town hall, the beautiful Tyn Cathedral, and Church of St. Nicholas. So much happened here, and so much is preserved here. The Old-New Synagog located in the Jewish Ghetto is the oldest preserved synagog in Europe! Still in pristine shape from World War Two, this my friends is really rare. (Check out the pics!)

... a menu and then noticed that the menu seemed to be quite a bit more expensive than the one they were advertising. The weather was closing in, and so we decided to just grin and bear it, so I ordered a fancy hamburger and Jess ordered... pork neck with boiled cabbage and dumplings. Pork neck! Anyway the pork neck wasn't nearly as disgusting as I'd imagined it to be, it was really just a different cut of pork rather than some tubular trachea or something, but I'm told ...

... the gate the historic centre is completely pedestrianised but you can see why people go ape-**** over it because it is all very pretty with cobbled streets and towers. The main square was filed with several Christmas markets, and it was almost 11.00am by this stage so was filled with people milling about.

... free walking tour from my hostel, and we both decided to join the tour. Our tour guide, Karel, was a native Czech and very theatrical guide. At some points in the tour, he would even cue up sound effects to enhance his stories. He showed us around the main square, and began telling us some early Czech history. ... behind to get a very different view and we also saw Skogafoss, another 60m waterfall. Foss in Icelandic means waterfall so that is why the names all end in 'foss'. The weather turned rainy and windy on our way to Vik but we still stopped to see the black beach, black sand because it is from volcanic rock. We also saw balsalt rock columns along the beach.
