... and as everyone was recovering, it braked again! It was like a one-two punch. I was sitting down, but some of the others would have fallen if they weren't holding on to the support. It was strange.

But brief.

We got off at the stop to our hotel shortly after that, and just about everyone decided to chill before we had a big group dinner.

I think a lot of us are still jet-lagged because we get exhausted by about 8 ...

Well I've been here for 7 weeks and since then I've been noting the things that I've seen and have made me chuckle. I think I've been quite surprised in a way. I didn't expect to experience so much more compared to travelling. This blog shows 'Melbourian life' (yes that's right 'Melbourian') in its purest form.

The tray is either smaller or there's more useless **** on it, as most of it ends up on the floor. When you leave the aircraft you're walking all over it. Flight was easy, crew were ok, Darrren met us at the gate and it was 5c. ...

... freezing, but we were glad of our layers. We saw others dressed more like us but a few still in shorts and flip flops, (after overhearing a very odd conversation earlier in our holiday, we now know that in OZ flip flops are called ... Thongs!!)

We found a 7/11 store where we'd been told to buy a card to use on the trams, and duly bought 2. We waited only a few minutes for tram number 16 which took us all the way to Flinders Street Station and Federation Square.

An employee, impersonating a prison warden with a loud demanding voice, herded tourists including us, into the gaol, separated the women from the men, informed us of the prison rules and showed us the original inside of the prison. Another option for the tourists was to attend a famous court case and even play bit parts in the drama. Individual gaol cells displayed posters ...
