... and as everyone was recovering, it braked again! It was like a one-two punch. I was sitting down, but some of the others would have fallen if they weren't holding on to the support. It was strange.

We found a 7/11 store where we'd been told to buy a card to use on the trams, and duly bought 2. We waited only a few minutes for tram number 16 which took us all the way to Flinders Street Station and Federation Square.

An employee, impersonating a prison warden with a loud demanding voice, herded tourists including us, into the gaol, separated the women from the men, informed us of the prison rules and showed us the original inside of the prison.
