Well after our nite of car park camping which wasn't too bad really, we felt safe enough to sleep with the doors open so did that and get a reasonable nights sleep.. We woke up nice and early and went to check in but unfortunately our pitch was taken so we had to wait a couple of hours. It is only one of two regions within greater Spain classified at the highest level for wine production and, as such, the standards are very rigid. The entire area we were now visiting is characterized by tiny, very compact and very old villages, invariably on a hilltop, surrounding by vineyards on the steep hills, ...

... village, the roads were cobbled and paved with very slick marble. As we passed through the church square, he warned me that I'd make a very sharp turn and that I'd have to "gun it" to make the final ascent. I was already regretting not having a manual transmission, to give me more torque. I made the turn quickly, to maintain momentum, but as I cut hard right to squeeze -- barely -- the van into the narrow channel, there was a loud crunching noise in back ...
