      ... warm enough to sun ourselves on the beach, but the water was too cool to swim. The next day we packed our bags for a 2 hour ferry ride to Santorini. During breakfast wet met a nice couple from Broome Australia. They have been travelling for 3 months in Europe and we had many travel stories to share with each other. We were sad to leave the friendly hospitality we received on Naxos island but anxious to visit the famous Santorini island.

      ... went through the town starting at 2pm and all the shops and stores were closed. We soon found out that the businesses close from 2pm to 6pm and it was best to do any shopping in the morning. We explored Naoussa's small port, a ruin of a Venetian Castle at the end of the breakwater and the narrow alleys/paths within the city.       No trains, no ferries - welcome to Athens. The railway staff politely announced on Saturday that there was going to be a strike on Sunday - Easter Sunday is an odd day to strike?! Also because it was Easter Sunday, there were no ferry services. Marta, our group leader had a plan - we would catch the bus to the airport and fly to Syros.
