... Et c'était une très bonne chose parce que l'auberge est haut sur une colline surplombant la ville; sans carte et sous la pluie ça aurait été pénible d'y monter! Et puis ensuite ils n'avaient pas de chambre double prête alors nous avons eu un petit appartement pour nous, avec vue sur mer. Vous pouvez être jaloux. :)

Le lendemain encore la chance nous a suivis, puisque la pluie nous a enfin épargnés, et nous avons même eu quelques jolies ...

... has a different currency. They don't use the Euro like most European countries I will be visiting. They use the Kuna, which has a veey bad and pretty confusing exchange rate. The first day I took out 200 Kuna which is basically equivalent to $40. I know it's so far off. With that I was able to buy a towel, sunscreen, a beer, and my dinner. It was so wierd seeing written prices there. My beer was 19 kuna which is like 3 euros. My towel was 50 Kuna or about 8 euro. ...

... is the old bridge 'Stari Most' which was bombed in the conflict. We watched footage of it being bombed and the moment it collapsed which was devastating to the people of Mostar. Our guide told us that it was not a strategic strike as the bridge wasn't a main artery for transport etc. The bridge was the identity of the town so when it was recovered from the water and rebuilt piece by piece it was a major event for the town. ... was not good. We were expecting a double bed but got two singles. We were also expecting a balcony with a view, which we don't have, although there is a nice garden terrace. Plus the wifi was not working so I couldn't check my booking. We walked to the shops but were a minute too late before they closed and we couldnt be bothered finding somewhere to go out for dinner.
