Due to the increasingly hot days we decided to get away from Villach as early as possible to travel in the coolest part of the day. It wasn't what Womby expected, He was looking for a quiet and peaceful waterway, not this bustling causeway like a main street to a large city. ... with two statues that hammer a huge bell on the hour. There is a great view of the city from the roof and terraces of the tower; you can see the snow covered Dolomite mountains in the distance. We had awesome sandwiches at a bar/ sandwich shop. We hunted down a gelato shop called Grom - hunted because there are a million gelato shops in Venice but Grom is the best!
