Apartment K Reykjavík

Perfect

We have just returned from 10 days at Apartament K. The location is absolutely perfect, very central. The apartment is very well furnished, very modern, big flat screen TV full of movies and with a nice small kitchen.

The owners could not be more helpfull.

Do not think in staying anywhere else in Reykajavik.

Great base for a few days in Reykjavik

An excellent base for a stay in Reykjavik - great central location, and a well designed and equiped appartment, perfect for a few days stay. Cathy was a great hostess, arranging airport pick up etc for us, and all of her sighseeing/restaurant recommendations were spot on. We were well lookied after.

Having found these apartments via Trp Advisor - more information was easily forthcoming when asked for. Kathy the owner - could not have been more helpful. We stayed at the apartment B1 at 3 Bergstadastraeti.

We recommend you e-mail /call Kathy with any queries - she really knows the area and is very willing to help with all aspects of your stay.

Agreeing a very fair rate and confirming the dates - the booking process was easily completed.

On arrival Kathy was available at the end of the phone to direct us into town, round the one way streets till we arrived at the appartment. Parking by the door was easy despite being in the centre of Reykjavik. Make sure you park only in the yellow marked area because the parking attendant can be very mean (got a ticket!!!).

The apartment was right in the centre which meant that the noise level on Fri and Sat nights was very noticeable. All other nights were fine. The night life in Reykjavik is so lively that you would propably have to be quite a far away to avoid the noise!!

The location is perfect for eating out (just walk within 100m and you will have loads of choice!) and shopping - the shops are mosty designer or tourist shops so they are really expensive but you can claim the tax back. We didnt travel out to shopping centres so we dont know how cheap Iceland can be (....ha ha ha!!!)

The apartment had everything there we needed, We just shopped a bit on the 1st day to get the usual milk bread etc (go to Bonus, its the cheapest!) but there was some dry food stuff such as tea and coffee that the previous visitors had left. There were all the kitchen utensils and crockery etc there to cook a proper meal. We did that several times so cut down on costs of eating out every night. It is worthwhile!

We stayed there for 10 nights and the apartment ws cleaned once during our stay , but Kathy made the impression that it depended of how often we wanted it to be cleaned. There were plenty of towels, and shower was lovely with steam and jets with remote control. The hot tub outside was amazing, and we used it a few times. It was private enough and although it was autumn, you really dont mind it being outdoors because it is so hot (41c) and right outside the apartment,

The apartment had broadband and also dvd and big plasma screen so on quieter nights we enjoyed that aspect.

We absolutely loved our stay and wish to go back soon!! We would definately stay in the same apartment (or Kathys other ones)!

Apartment K was a great find!

Apartment K is an excellent option in the center of Reykjavik. For about the same price as a small hotel room we rented a one bedroom apartment with a full kitchen. The apartment was modern, well furnished and very clean. And the location is within walking distance to most everything you would want to walk to. The owners are extremely friendly and helpful as well. Highly recommended!

Das Apartment K war eine super Entdeckung!

Das Apartment K ist eine ausgezeichnete Option im Zentrum von Reykjavik. Für so ziemlich den gleichen Preis wie ein kleines Hotelzimmer mieteten wir eine 1-Zimmer-Wohnung mit voll ausgestatteter Küche. Die Wohnung war modern, gut eingerichtet und sehr sauber. Und von dort aus kann man so ziemlich alles zu Fuß erreichen. Auch die Besitzer sind extrem freundlich und hilfsbereit. Höchst empfehlenswert!

Terrific location, great amenities,

This was our third time in Reykjavik and our first time staying at Apartment K. Kathy and Jokull (the owners) have properties in several city locations. We stayed at 3 Bergstaðarstaeti, next door to the Kaffibarinn (a cool cafe) and just a few steps from the main street Laugevagar. The location is a big plus, with easy proximity to shopping, restaurants, cafes and clubs.

In additon to the fully furnished and equipped apartment (complete with 37" LCD TV and modern, stylish furnishings), there is an enclosed courtyard with a hot tub, patio table and chairs and a gas barbecue grill which are available to the guests.

Kathy and Jokull were very attentive to our needs, and quick to respond to any requests.

We are planing our next trip back to Reykjavik (one of the coolest cities in the world) and will definitely return to stay at Apartment K. It is unlikely that one would be able to find a better place to stay or friendlier hosts.

Very centrally located, excellent value for money in Reykjavik

Apartment L1 of "Apartment K" in Reykjavik is very centrally located (as are all the apartments of "Apartment K"), very well equipped, nicely furnished in very good taste. L1 has a nice bathroom, a bedroom, a small kitchen and a living room with a flat screen TV and an internet connection, should you bring your own laptop. The small kitchen has everything you need for cooking any meal to a family of 4 and includes both a dishwasher and a microwave in addition to the regular oven and stove. If you are going to Reykjavik, I would recommend staying with "Apartment K" at any time. Considering everything, the apartment hotel offers excellent value for money.

Stylish City Getaway

Sophisticated modern private apartment rental near the Reykjavik city centre. Beautifully and comfortably furnished, with every amenity, including wireless access, a mini-Mac with loads of movies, and an iPod music system. It's a quiet residential street but within walking distance of just about everything - and the main bus terminal is about ten minutes' walk. The owners are responsive, helpful and professional. I would definitely stay here again and in fact a friend of mine is staying here on my recommendation.

Excellent apartments with very good value

I found Apartment K through a recommendation from another property owner. Since then, I have stayed with them three times in the past year -- twice in the summer and once in January. The apartment I stayed in is well furnished in a modern style with wireless internet and a nice tv with cable tv (many foreign channels). The bed is large and comfortable, and the pullout couch is usable as well. The bathroom is nice and modern. The kitchen is small, but everything is in good shape and works well. There is a good washer and dryer in a storage room in the basement.

The building itself is very conveniently located. It is just two blocks down from Laugarvegur, the main shopping street, and it is a short walk to the center of town, the musuems, the pond and so on. There are three grocery stores within a very short walk (Bonus, 10-11 and 11-11), many restaurants, and parking is pretty easy. It's just one block from the water and the Viking Ship on Saebraut.

I have spent a total of about two months living in the apartment and I am very satisfied with it. It is a great choice as the location is very convenient and it is large enough and furnished enough to be comfortable for longer stays. The owners are very nice people, easy to deal with and have been happy to help me any time I had problems or questions. I recommend them very highly.
