Day 28 Christchurch to Sydney

A travel blog entry by ardbackpacker on Mar 05, 2015

Good sleep in Hotel 115. Mine host was a lovely small Japanese woman who was very helpful and talkative. We had a wander around the construction site for a couple of hours having one last coffee in the Restart Mall before heading off to the Airport. I'm glad to say that the car car's fuel light was on when the car was returned meaning that I had gauged the fuel to perfection! It was easier than expected to find Apex car hire and quickly ...

Picture a homeless vagrant, except one that is a young, professional-looking woman dressed in a business suit in a chair in a food court on the fifth floor of a completely vacant mall. This time we checked the wind direction and then found an up-wind spot to watch the show. We ...

Market stalls sell wares such as food, hats, babywear and souvenirs for the plethora of consumers. If you're feeling parched, the nearby Fortune of War pub, which claims to be the oldest pub in Sydney, is a delightful place to relax. Built way back in 1828 by Samuel Taylor, an ex-convict, it is the traditional meeting place for Australia's war veterans ...

This morning I got to stay in bed until 8:30am which was much needed. I didn't sleep much last night due to nerves and just being overtired from the previous day. Georgia took Aj and I to The Grounds of Alexandria for breakfast which was a real treat. After we ate we headed back to Georgia's to do the final pack and drove to the airport. After finding out I couldn't use my cash ...
