... though were actually living here and not on holiday. After two days of not drinking , Gareth was so bored he decided to make a cheesecake, which has only just been finished. The weather here has been absolutely beautiful and we've spent all our days outside the last week which is one of the main reasons we are here too. Its probably been kate 20's each day, nice and cool at night, so perfect for me. Hoping it continues, although there has been plenty of rain and flooding ...

... today, which isn't like him and when I dropped him iff this morning he cried and so did I, a lot and at this point I had my first pang of feeling homesick. What best thing to do in this situation than ring Mum! Reassurance offered and 5 hours later I picked him up, a bundle of smiles, telling me what a great time he'd had. The good thing is that school is just 9 until 2 so still have lots of play time at home. Last but not least, little Lewis. We ...

It's got steep cliffs on its west and north sides which can instantly be written off as ascent routes. ... One of these is Cerro Los Madronales. I've been unable to find a precise translation of the name, but it seems it has something to do with strawberry plants - not that I'm expecting to collect anything big enough to be worth eating!

It's been raining heavily for a couple of days and although today is dry, there's a lot of cloud around and a strong wind blowing as I leave the usual departure point at kilometre 31 on the Carretera. I decide that I'm going to ...

... this time westwards towards Maroma. However, it's far too windy here to hang around and I drop part way back towards Los Pradillos before having lunch in a sheltered spot.

The walk back is by the same route - there is a lower alternative which would provide a bit of variety, but who wants to miss out on those views? I'm back at the football stadium just before kick off in the big match - Competa Under 11s against unknown oppponents. But probably not Real Madrid.
