14/10 we sailed the 33 miles to Madeira itself as the wind slowly increased and we finally got to the very impressive, but very expensive Quinta del Lorde Marina which is underneath a volcanic cliff

Wir sind auf See. Endlich nehmen wir uns Zeit für Frühsport. Vormittags beginnt dann die Informationsveranstaltung mit Dr. Pohl und anderen Referenten. Es werden großartige 2 Stunden, die in der Folge von einigen Diskussionsrunden besprochen werden. Jetzt ist endlich Zeit für einen ganzen Nachmittag in der Wellness-Oase auf Deck 12, den wir träumend genießen. Für den Abend haben wir einen Platz im "Rossini" ...

By the way: lovely pavement cafés, tapa bars and individual shops and boutiques - well... add Arrecife to your bucket ...
Living the quiet life
... 4 or 5 years! At the end we were given signed copies of 2 books written by the poet which is a lovely momento.
The other great activity here has been “intercambio” which is when 2 or more people get together to converse in English and Spanish. Not only has it helped improve my Spanish, it is a lovely way to get to know people and tap into different aspects of life here. I am really grateful to Santi, Silvia and Marisa for their patience ...
