Calle Jarreria 5 Esc.5 Bajo A Granada, Andalusia, Spain and Canary Islands
After days at sea we had a short stop in Malaga before docking the next day back in Savona. I have decided that I am not crazy about the days at sea. Even though I really enjoyed all the ports, I don't think I would do anther big curise. The fact that there were only small number of people who spoke enlgish on the ship was interesting. So wanted to speak another language .. any lanaugage. Even when I told the Germans I did nto speak Germann they kept talking!
Málaga, Andalusia, Spain and Canary Islands pathenger... winning again, 900 euro to be exact) or playing golf. Perfect!
One of our day´s we drove to Gibraltar, which is only about 1.5 hours drive away, but actually a part of England(?). I absolutely loved it, not because of the English-ness (Marks and Sparks, etc) but because of the MONKEYS!! I LOVE MONKEYS!! We drove up the side of the "rock" and visited a cave (pretty cool, but nowhere near as good as the ones down south ...
... it was her first time ever making a turkey in the oven. She also told me that she spent two weeks looking on the Internet for a recipe on how to cook a turkey. I really appreciate that she did that and that she put so much effort into making it. It was really nice of her to help us feel at home. Even though it was different it was still very good. A very good Spanish Thanksgiving. She also told me that I need to visit Barcelona ...
Málaga, Andalusia, Spain and Canary Islands skivail89Malaga is the major city near Frigiliana (where the train dropped us off). We spent a day there when we picked up Jaime and Rob at the train station. Some highlights:
... this 5 euro mojito that he wasn’t going to drink. I asked him why he didn’t just ask for her to replace the drink and he told me that it is extremely rare for a bartender to ever replace a drink and that the Spaniards will usually never complain. I told him that I would go tell the bartender that we’d like to exchange the mojito and he was a little surprised. In my mind I was correct, if you don’t like it you ...
Málaga, Andalusia, Spain and Canary Islands skivail89... at the Granada Cathedral. It’s a jewel. The entrance is adjacent to the room where Columbus met Isabel and Ferdinand after his first sailing to the New World. The stories he must have told! I wondered if people with no concept of what’s over the horizon really believed him? Pity the few natives he lugged back to Spain!; from maize to flamenco in 30 days. Then we crossed the street to a Church ...

Well Granada didn't really captivate us and this is one city I am glad to be leaving. It was cold and miserable the entire time we were here. The hostel we had booked to stay at was closing down soon due to renovations. As a result we were the only ones there and it was a bit like faulty towers crossed with a horror movie setting. We were supposed to go to the "new hostel" for breakfast but when we went looking ...
Granada, Andalusia, Spain and Canary Islands alanna.holloway... again... By the time we parked Juan it was about 11.30pm and me and Sean were starving. We wandered down to the Plaza Nueva and got tempted by the most amazing gelati that we had ever seen, but decided instead to get a pizza. We wandered around for a little while as the place was full of people, and found this guy who was making huge bubbles using 2 sticks and a piece of string. We watched this one kid keep trying to burst them by throwing a juggling baton at them ...
Granada, Andalusia, Spain and Canary Islands lovin_applesWoke up early so I could get to the Alhambra before the crowd. It was chilly and overcast outside, but at least it wasn't raining...yet. There must have been minimum 50 people in line already, and I even got there 15 minutes before they opened. Once inside, I tried to locate where everything was, and was hoping to escape from the larger groups, however that seemed to be an impossible task. The Alhambra is a huge Moorish palace build ontop of a ...
