We had decided to take the Ferry up to another village on the lakeside, but actually arrived at the Quay in time for an earlier ferry. So we ended up catching the 9:10 ferry to Urio. As we climbed on board, the rain started, and as we cast off, that rain changed to horizontal, so we abandoned to top deck to go downstairs.

Luckily when we reached Urio the rain let up for a while. The only cafe near the dockside turned out to be a restaurant, despite having "cafe" written ...

We woke at a reasonable hour and had breakfast at the hotel. The boys enjoy the idea of getting their own breakfast and the buffet concept!! When we were ready we walked down to the lake and got the 10.25am ferry to Bellagio. It was a glorious, sunny day and Geoff and I enjoyed soaking up the rays on the back of ...

... schnitzel but Craig’s pork was good as were the salads. Once again down by the waterside to do internet research for Milan. Whilst we have missed having internet in our apartment, it has been lovely to go down to Lake Como each day – the walk and view would be very much enjoyed in Adelaide each day. Have we got free wifi in Adelaide yet? Cernobbio would be a great place to live.

... for lunch away from the main piazzas which was an excellent idea. We had an insalata/figs and goats cheese ‘primo’ together to die for. The figs were yummy as and the soft cheese even better. The Modena balsamic vinegar and olive oil made them even better. My main course of Osso Bucco with porcini mushroom sauce and polenta – yummy as. Craig had the gnocchi with gorgonzola and rucolo – bit rich for me but he had to have ...
