Clearly a summer holiday town but a beautiful town situated on the shores of a huge lake. The water is crystal clear. Mimma picked us up and drove us to Mercallo for Mass. She drives the narrow byways without fear , firm resolve, no hesitation. There are six traffic circles between Gallarate and Mercallo and by number three I figured that if we died at least it was on the way to church. The church overlooks Mercallo, 100 years ago Martin and Victoria were married at that altar, and we lit two candles for Salinas and Bodesteiners everywhere ,and our friends.
