... goats, and sheep. As soon as Elofonisi came into view, we knew that the drive had been worth it. The beach has several inlets of turquoise water, set off by the white and pink sand. We awoke late this morning still a little tired after our late arrival last night. I was just able to sync yesterday's post. Our hotel is an old Venetian building that has been beautifully renovated. We had the best yogurt I've ever had along with a huge variety of other items for breakfast in the charming courtyard. ... Great walk. Beautiful scenery. A formed path most of the way and all downhill so easy. Came out the bottom about 3pm (I was a slow walker as some people did it in 4-5 hours) at a town called Agia Roumeli. A swim at the beach (deserved), and then a boat ride to the next town on the coast that had a road to it (Sougia) Then it was the bus back to Chania arriving at 9pm. Pretty full day. Tired but ...

... hungry as if all else fails there is always Gyros and Souvlaki (and all the normal western stuff). The meals are huge – the Greeks certainly know how to eat, and they order so many dishes; not just one per person

Took a bus one day towards the south coast and visited a small town - Spili. Nice but after an hour you have seen it. Then you have to wait for a bus back!!! But easy to fill in ...
