Beautiful island with an explosive history

Day 6 : Relaxing in Perissa
... its days travelling from Kamari to Perissa on choppy water. We walked along the street lining the beach in the town but spent the better of our day under an umbrella on the beach. After getting our fill of the sun we took the boat back to Kamari where we ventured to discover the rest of the city of Kamari.

It's All Greek to Me
... It was absolutely smooth like water but tasted like it came right out of an oak barrel buried underground for 100 years. We didn't ask for any more, but were glad we tried it. We bought a small bottle of the visanto and headed back. We made a quick trip back up to Oia that night to grab another gyro and to take advantage of having the ATVs. Sailing around in a big hole full of water!
... but nice in a way not to have to struggle to understand what they're saying. We picked this one as the group size is smaller (about 20 people) so a bit more personal. Our first stop was "Red Beach" for a quick swim. It’s called this because the cliff above it is red (original huh?), and the bits that have eroded have formed a (very) narrow strip of red sand. Time with the Beautiful People
... beach town on the eastern side of the island. We stayed there because are friends were staying there, taking advantage of all of their research. And they did a good job with that--it was probably the town I'd most want to stay in on the island. There are certainly fancier digs, but it was relaxed and inexpensive with a nice beach and enough restaurants and stuff to keep us happy.
