Emily settled straight into making friends on our arrival at Esperance and by the end of the week had invited most of the kids in the campground back to our camper for a play! It is great to see her confidence growing. Ella also made lots of friends but was more interested in trying to escape to other peoples caravans and tents than staying in our own! There is a little beach called tabletop which is just around the corner from the duke campsite, best little beach that no one seems to know about!

If youre into camping its the best way to go.
Esperance just got rated the highest with the town/city for the most tourists last year, so im sure you can imagine the prices they put on hotels, etc!

We say brave as a city centre seemed quiet daunting after spending so long in the country, we felt almost claustrophobic amongst the sea of people rushing around us getting their Christmas shopping – in 30+degree heat! The water is solar heated and was quite hot although you had to be careful with the water as it was a limited supply. The wind was up a little but it was still warm so we relaxed and read our kindles in between socialising with the kids. ... I reached the small town of Ravensthorpe, the first sign of civilization for 2 hours. After a brief stop for fuel I joined the South Coast Highway due east to Esperance for another 200km. The country changed a little here as the road passed through the Ravensthorpe Ranges, high rounded granite hills covered with dense low scrub and enlivened by pink flowered bushes and the native kangaroo paw by the side of the road.
