    ... through till the supposedly hard course. I finished and went back to the hut got changed and caught the train from the kangaroos back to the entry we decided to go around again we got off at a tuck shop had something to eat sat and talked then walked back to leave. I got my name marked off and left to go home.

    7:15pm Went to learn to surf today. We went to the northern end of the main beach where we met our instructors from Wet 'n' Surf. So they taught us the basics on the beach like how to stand on the board and how to hold the board when going into the sea. It was quite exciting.     ... Continuing the attitude adjustment, when in Rome...... So we took a surfing lesson in Surfer's Paradise. Learn to surf shops are everywhere and for $49 AU, you too can learn to walk on water. It was hard work and we did ride some waves in although mostly with our bellies on the board instead of our feet. There may be more of this in our future! And then the total buzzkill - I lost ...

    ... Lots and lots of shopping. Many of the stores were having great sales, and as I was going from store to store I felt the vibe of Surfers Paradise surround me. I bought a super cute romper that I had to wear out. I slowly meandered my way towards Q1, the tallest tower in the Southern Hemisphere, and up until the one in Dubai was built was the tallest residential tower in the world.     ... drive and sandy beach. We had a cooling iced coffee at one end of it but needed further cooling by the time we got to the other end, this time with a beer. On into the centre of the town and then took a taxi back. Our conversation with the driver went something like this
