... that was so easy to get lost in. The names on the maps were always different to the actual streets. One thing I perhaps found the most annoying was the bikes. You forever were hearing this annoying ring of the bells, unfortunately coming from Melbourne, I don't think it made for the best tolerance for them. A small group of us had decided to explore the city together. Emily, Megan and a New Zealander called Luke. He was quite shy so I think us girls managed to get ...

... station. After trudging down the street (and seeing this amazing church along the way) we finally reached the hotel only to be told the room wasn't ready and to come back between 2-3pm. I was expecting this as the check in did say 3pm and we were a little early. So we dropped our bags and went for a wander. Mainz was a really nice town, we wandered down the river not really knowing what we were looking for, but we found some nice churches and there was a very nice open mall where ...

... to find a bar crawl that had been recommended to us the day before and to have a great time.

Remember when I told you to keep in mind the friends that we met on the train from London to Paris? Turns out, they were on the same bar crawl as us. It was a great night of enjoying the city, lots of free drinks, and having fun with our new friends!

Amsterdam was great to our group, but alas we must go. Next stop: Berlin.
