We got up this morning and transferred all of the "stuff" that didn't require refrigeration, from the trailer to the truck. It was very hot and sticky and by the time we got everything transferred, it was bumping close to noon.

For those of you who have been there, it's a but like Ronnie's Sex Shop in the middle of the Karoo in the Eastern Cape in that it has random people's underwear hung up all over the place! Walking in, we are handed the mandatory shot of Hooch...a sweet tequila made from rice. Pretty tasty, but still difficult to chug down ...

The trail up the mountain was well-maintained, the first fairly steep with wooden stairs that later turned to a dirt path. All the while i was looking for butterflies and finding none, wondering if it was really true that 100-250 million would be there. I admit feeling a bit skeptical.

I must say that it was a GIANT leap out of my comfort zone and it took me a little while to settle in and get used to the idea. The owners were extremely nice and patient and tried their best to accomodate us. It was an extremely basic hotel, with laundry hanging on all of the railings and curtains for doors and no locks on most of the rooms.
