A one hour taxi ride down the west coast of the island brought us to the town of adjacent beaches of Flic en Flac and Wolmar. Our apartment at Villa Orchidee, bordering the stretch of luxury hotels along Wolmar, was a definite step up in plushness (Dstv nogal!) and as the last stop on our adventure, a fitting spot to wind down our final week on the road in style.

March 6, 2008 Dear All, So, Mauritius... where to begin. In case anyone doesn't know, Mauritius is a tiny little island country off the coast of Madagascar, so that's where you can find it on a map. The entire island is about 20 by 40 miles.
