Curaçao pronounced Cur-ah-sow is the largest of the ABC islands in the southern Caribbean sea. It was another beautiful day, we did not have a tour booked from the ship as you could walk into town so we took one of the local two hour tours to see the local sights and hear about the history of the Island. included in the tour was a visit to where they make the famous blue curaçao liqueur and a tasting, i did not know it came in several flavours . 07/28- We flew to Curacao this morning on Insel Air. Not the best of times, but we made it intact with no lost luggage, so who's to complain! It is a very quick flight, and after clearing immigration and customs we collected our baggage and stepped outside into the heat of the day. The guide spoke in English and Dutch and provided a very thorough explanation of the farm and the behaviors of the ostrich. The farm itself is ...

The Hato caves were very interesting. LOTS of steps though. 49 up to the enterance, and many more once you're inside. The caves were used by escaped slaves, to hide from the plantation owners. Plenty of fresh water, but they still had to sneak out after dark to steal food to survive.. Had a snack of local fried pies while at the caves. Very good. Mom had Beef and cheese, I just had cheese. Local Gouda. Yummy stuff.
