One can see why it has sprung up so fast, the beaches are lovely and long and sandy. The surf looks great, only problem is that it looks like Dubai with sprawling skyscrapers by the dozen. Behind these there are large multi-lane roads built back from the main beaches lined with thousands of small ugly strip-malls. The whole ...
Miami, Queensland, Australia kingsandems... then one of them twatted himself with the whip and squealed like a pig. Me & Lorna just sat there laughing whilst a load of people ran across worried about him!! Clearly we are going to be bad parents!! As it happens, the kid had done no damage so no harm done then. Not much else to report. It's been really good here though, as we have been right on top of a good beach.
Byron Bay, Australia vickersontourA lie in this morning as we had no plans. This became another one of our relaxation days. After getting out of bed about 10am, we just sat outside the van for a couple off hours in the sun. We then went shopping before driving down to Miami beach and had lunch overlooking the beach and ocean - brilliant. We ended up staying there for hours just chilling out. As the sun went down, we went back to the park to have dinner and watch a film. Like I said earlier, a day of nothingness ...
Miami, Australia vickersontourwell well well seems like I forgot to write :) I didn't the thing is ... I was excited, went back to Europe ... COLD, GREY, BLACK, DEPRESSED world ... and then came back to my little cosy home on the beach in Oz ... and it felt like I never left :)Everything is the same - here and there. But I never stopped ... traveling in my mind, heart, actions ... even during those windy, rainy nights, there is a bright light, like and internal clock ... ticking ...
Miami, Australia zalazala... It is lovely to go along the coast, past surfers paradise and all the places we have driven along on the sea front. Rod takes over the controls and we head off at high speed towards Sanctuary Cove - the millionaires playground, where I look really dressed for lunch in a grand restaurant - jeans, T-shirt and plastic croc shoes - I guess some things will never change!! Anyway ...
Gold Coast, Australia mfroggatt... on, all the show we went to we got there early and got a seat in the shade. The second show, called Hunt For The Golden Seal, was amazing as it was funny. All I have to say is that seal was soooo smart. It interacted with the hosts, crowd, balanced balls, danced, waved, barked, etc. I must say everyone in the crowd was in awe of how well trained the seal was. Well worth just going to Sea World for. After that it was the dolphin show with ...
Surfers Paradise, Australia mcdonkeyburgersSo after a quick trip across the Tasman, I arrived in Australia. More specifically at Coolangatta airport on the Gold Coast to begin my jaunt into the land down under. Mark, my mate from back home picked me up and it wasn't long before we were cruising down the gold coast highway. Unfortunately I was still wearing my jeans and jumper from my cold night in the NZ airport and I was ...
Goldy, Australia jagChristmas morning Kennedy and I woke everybody up, we were so exited. After everybody was fully awake Kennedy and I dressed up as Santa and an elf p.s. I was Santa. After everybody opened their presents we went to a lake and went paddle boating. At first we kept going in circles but after I took the wheel we were fine. After that it was so hot we had some ice cream and left.
Malleny, Australia whitfield... to at least get a napkin (up to this point iIve had my thumb shoved up there). I went to the information desk and asked if there was a toilet. Apparently you have to go through the gates to get to it (and to get through the gates I correctly surmised that you needed a ticket). I guess a nose bleed is as good as any ticket, and the guy let me through. On the way out he was supposed to check my ticket again, but I said thanks and he remembered who I was, so that went ok ...
Brisbane, Australia hamblce3Hi everyone, Good news! The cyclone has moved off the Queensland Coast and is heading for NZ. This means I will be leaving the lovely town of Byron Bay for Brisbane tomorrow morning. I don't think I will stay long in Brisbane, maybe just time for a quick dive and surf lesson. I was going to have a surf lesson today but the waves are 4-5 metres high so probably best not to try to learn in those conditions. I went for a dive yesterday, my ...
