    ... 200 miles. The only impact it will have is a high surf warning. I can cope with that, although it might bugger the snorkelling up for a day or so. It was also no surprise to hear that 9.58 inches of rain was recorded hitting the North Shore of Kauai Friday night. The Hanalei Bridge was closed until Saturday morning and one body was recovered when a flash flood swept a 19 year old off her feet.

    Think I'll go walk the bay this morning and maybe find a mango smoothy for lunch or ...

    Hanalei Farmer's Market is every Saturday from 9:30 - Noon. This is where the local farmers & artists bring their "items: and sell to the tourists.     ... time for her to learn. Maybe I can come here and be a snorkel tour guide when I retire! Hahaha. Our hike back up the path was a bit easier than going down. We did give the valet guy a tip because he was really nice and gave us another beach to try out. Maybe tomorrow........if I can talk my two adventurous travelers to go with me.

    DAY 11 - SNORKELING & POIPU

    ... into the water first then put them on. Getting out....take them off & walk out before the waves throw you onto the beach. We spent a couple hours here at Lawai Beach before deciding to head back north to our condo.

    ... pm. Our Hawaiian airlines route over to Kauai took us through Maui with a 1.5 hour layover. The flight to Maui only took 19 minutes. We could see Maui on the flight in but by the time we left Maui at 2:45 it was completely covered with a cloud....tropical storm "Willie". Late leaving Maui do to the storm.
