Happy Thanksgiving!

I spent the morning taking an Italian exam!!! The afternoon was a little more fun, touring Palazzo Pitti with my Art History class.

It was a little strange spending it without everyone but my school put together a little gathering for us. A group of us dined on a typical American Thanksgiving at a local restaurant. We were served Butternut Squash soup with bread, Turkey ...

ensuite on est aller voir le vrai "David" de michealange. installer au bout d,un aller d'un petit muse au gros prix! c'est impressionant de voir sa grandeur et surtout de penser qu'il a ete realise dans un seul bloc de marbre, sculte a la main avec les outils de l'epoque. Comme dans tout bon muse, il est impossible prendre des photos!

Found a stall in the markets selling tripe on bread rolls with parsley and olive oil- super yumm!!! Found out later it's another Florence local specialty.

Hi Everyone!

After an exhausting weekend in Brussels, I was in for yet another treat with cooking classes in Florence. Organized by my school, a group of us met with a chef for some lessons.

We were taught how to prepare typical Tuscan cuisine including Ribollita and Stuffed zucchini-flowers.

Everything was delicious & I look forward to trying these recipes at home!

I am already falling in love with this city and this villa, as much as I miss you all at home. Thank you so much to those of you who have commented or gotten in touch with me – it is so nice to hear from you.

... We can see.. not THAT much earlier, maybe one day? The drive is about 4 hrs here but it might be faster on train so how bout you research that. I am flying out from rome, so that would be better if you landed there just so that we can fly out in the same area and not have to seperate. There are SOOO much cute restaurants with food and whatnot, and little stores with REAL leather.. shoes!! =) Dont pack that light or else u wud need to do alot of laundry ...

... scoffed at paying that until we read about how Michaelangelo said when he was about to paint the St.Peter's Basillica, it will never live up to the one in Florence (I'm paraphrasing here).  We had planned on going to Pisa tomorrow and then Rome, but now after checking out the stores here I think we're going to start our shopping tomorrow here.  This city is full of nice stores and sale signs.  Hope you are all enjoying the updates, we'll check in again later.  Ciao

... the hostel and I picked what looked like a good restaurant and started in on our multiple course meal. It was all good (although, maybe not the best I've had) and the waiters were really funny trying to speak english and communicate with us. It was a good meal. You really can't go wrong with Italian food. Finally, I packed up my extremely bug bitten self (I seriously think they were sucking the life blood from me, you should have seen the welts!) and headed off to the coast!

One who travels in Florence will certainly notices the inevitable artistic splendours of Florence. Home of the famous Michelangelo and many more artists, the city is unfairly over-charmed with art, culture and history.
