... and the writer of the Divine Comedy. Come ON!! I geeked out a bit. Not to mention, the cathedral itself was stunning, as we the cloisters and courtyard outside. We headed back to the apartment and Mom cooked us a fantastic pot roast with potatoes, carrots, mushrooms, onions, and a salad. We enjoyed the delicious dinner around the large dining room table, sipped champagne, talked, laughed, and enjoyed the evening. Now, it's time to rest our very weary bodies and prepare for another ...

... out... but they were being sold illegally on the street, so he didn't get one. Pretty funny! We walked around the city a bit more, had a couple bottles of wine and a light lunch on our piazza by our apartment, and Brad and I went over and went inside the Duomo cathedral, which was absolutely beautiful. The dome itself was painted amazingly at dizzying heights, and the cathedral was as gorgeous as any we'd seen. We met back up ...

... of the only wineries supplying wine to Henry VIII and his wives (they did not mention which wives, or whether they kept their heads afterwards).

Apparently NYU is very good friends with them, so we got a special tour into the castle itself, and the private villa of the family. The family uses it for entertaining their various guests, and displays pictures of them with US presidents, and their invitation ...

... was less crowded and brighter. We wanted to go on the tour of it which tells you all about the place and also takes you up to the terrace and dome roof. Sadly, we didn't have enough cash on us. But we did go up the tower just to the left of the cathedral to see all of Florence.
Then we wandered down to the Uffizi Gallerey again to see the art works. There were all types of styles, pastel, oil, watercolour, etc. But we were quite taken by the works of ...

So... we finally landed about 4pm in Pisa and hoofed it over on local bus to Florence - took about an hour. Caught a taxi close to the hotel them discovered the street numbering had been devised by the same person who developed Number Wang... we were at number 19 so followed the numbers 9, 11, 13, 121, 72, 4, - you get the picture. Thanks to the friendly shop keepers who were used to it, we found the hotel, negotiated comedy lifts, ...
