Enjoyed my class again today, great teachers, very kind, accommodating, and helpful. They never make you feel less than adept even though you are! After class a few of us went to the grocery and had them make us sandwiches to go for our trip to Pompeii, I went back to my apt to pack my backpack as it had rained the night before and in the morning it was down pouring... Sorrento (Day 1)

... and excavated. Today has been a big day and after wandering around for a solid couple of hours, we were both ready for home.

We caught the train back to Sorrento. From the local supermarket we purchased some Presecco (Italian Sparkling Wine) and some nibbles before heading back to our hotel for pre dinner drinks. We again enjoyed dinner at our hotel but promised ourselves we would venture into Sorrento for dinner on our last night.

Friday, Sept 20
We hired a car and driver for the day to take us and our friend, Cindy Hooper who is also staying in Sorrento, on the famous Amalfi Road drive, a 25-mile long serpentine drive along the coast of sheer cliffs. The views were stunning and impossible to photograph. The road was built in 1853, under the rule of Ferdinand II of Bouron. Off this road can see the islands ...

Dinner was had back at the hotel with the tour group we joined today for the rest of our trip. Dinner was nothing spectacular but the lemonatta we had for dessert...PERFECTO!
