... interesting to watch the families line up waiting for the restaurants to open. We ordered some iced chocolates and sat down but had to wait 7 minutes before we could drink them as the break fast ended at 7.16pm. It gets earlier by a minute everyday, the bell sounds and the first prayer goes out, then its feast time.

Iced chocolates consumed it was time to watch the Dubai Fountain which is the worlds largest choreographed ...

With full stomachs and empty purses we made our way in direction of the city center and caught a bus to the Jumeirah Mosque. It took some time but if you're lucky to have a seat it doesn't matter. Afterwards we took another bus to Al Ghubaiba Busstation and wandered around Bur Dubai again, this time more the textile souk.
Lessons learned: Don't drink mango juice when there is no toilet in sight later!

... here because the coffee is so strong but forget Roll up the Rim in Muslim country.
Friday is the holy day here but everything is open. In the morning the malls are full of expats but the locals show up in the afternoon. The work and school week is Sunday to Thursday.

The highlight for us was the evening in the desert where we rode camels, had an authentic Arabian dinner and even got a Henna tattoo!

Now we are sailing out of Dubai. Next stop: Muscat in ...

... ways we are the same...they giggle with their girlfriends, calm fussy babies and walk through the mall with shopping bags on their arms. Many women have beautiful eyes accented by dark, defining eyeliner that adds to the Arabic mystique. Do they smile under that veil when I offer one to them? After a hectic Sunday, we woke Monday to take the bus to Abu Dhabi. Like Saturday, we spent all day Monday in Abu Dhabi laying by the beach and recovering at our hotel, the St. Regis Corniche (thanks SPG points). Tuesday provided another busy tourist opportunity.
