... and the toilets were freshly serviced. So our big night in Dalyan – dinner and night’s parking cost us <50TL (15-20Euro). We anticipated that the buses and tourists would be back, we made sure we were out early. We were keen to see the local attractions but couldn’t face 8-10 hours on a boat tour which would have meant a second night in the car park – it was just too hot, parked on the hot tar with no shade or ...

Dave, Dawn and Rory went on 2½ hour walk across the headland and down to a small harbour - Içmeler. The views made the effort worthwhile and most of it was in shady forest.

... very table. Good man, he doesn't know it yet but that gesture just doubled his tip for the holiday! However, there is a minor problem now that we've nabbed this premier position. We are at least an hour earlier than we've normally been coming in to dinner and subsequently that last sunset we want so much to enjoy is still over an hour away. Never before have we hung out a buffet meal for so long, but boy was it worth it, another amazing sunset enjoyed ...

... pleasant. The water was really clean and we had some lovely swims. From the campsite we explored the surrounds on bicycles and Brutus. The latter took us past Datça and included visits to a wine farm and an organic olive farm. The hot days have caused the tar to melt and so we prefer to head out early as it becomes quite ‘slushy’ for two wheelers.
