    ... to soak up the bread]. For the main, Esther ordered a local paella-type dish, very thin pasta noodles replacing rice as the base. There were three large tiger prawns atop and some mussel for the maritime flavour; very good stuff. A bottle of vino blanco was shared amongst the three tired diners [20E].

    Esther took the nearby metro home and Daniel and I walked back to the hostel, getting in after 2230. Could not open my Vaxxine but downloaded pix and bed time an hour ...

    ... a couple of churches and museums (including a chocolate museum) which were interesting, although the boys are getting a bit tired of these so we are limiting the number and the time taken at each place!

    Again tried the yummy food of the region including paella, tapas, hams, and churros! Thank goodness we are walking lots and going up and down lots of stairs!

    A great stay in an interesting city. Now onto ...

    ... for the both of us to share. It's delicious, absolutely yummy shrimp and prawns, plus some sort of shellfish and mussels....all amazing together. We are way too full to attempt dessert and call it a night. Tomorrow we plan on visiting the Gotic quarter again in the morning - and we have booked a audio guide tour of one of Gaudi's master pieces, Sagrada Familia for the afternoon. Should be awesome!

    Today was by far the most interesting day I've spent in this wonderful city of Barcelona. It is a place that really has a way of growing on you. The people, the places, the atmosphere, the music and the culture - they all coalesce to form a vibrant city teeming with life (and rain and thunderstorms today, unfortunately for some).

    ... per day, then 2 days of deep cleansing which is mostly liquid nutrients and a few snacks to keep blood sugar up, then back to another four days of healthy eating. In Weight Watcher's terms, it's about 24 points per day for me or 1200 calories.
