        'Here be dragons' is a term that conveys dangerous or unexplored territories. In the fourteenth century (or there abouts) Cartographers sketched dragons, sea serpents and other mythological creatures in uncharted areas of maps to deter potential explorers. An ancient map of South America included such illustrations, however this didn't deter Magellan who in 1520 sailed to South America and became the first European Explorer to sail from the Atlantic to the Pacific Ocean.
